June 26 - 30 Week at a Glance

Dear General Currie Families,

As we reflect on the joy and celebration in learning this past week, we also look ahead to our final week of our school year.  A reminder from our PAC that our final hot lunch and pizza day is on Monday.  If you did not have a chance to order online, there will be limited cash sales.  Also, if you ordered a digital eYearbook, they should now have been emailed to you.

Please see the attached flyers from the Public Library that will support your child(ren) in their summer reading adventures, as well as information about the Summer Active Pass.  You will also find attached our final Week at a Glance.  As the school year ends, we extend an enormous ‘Thank you’ to Ms. Pikkarainen, for her creativity and time spent each week on the WAAG in efforts to keep home connected with school.

Parents, your child(ren)’s final learning summary report will be published on MyEd on Wednesday afternoon.  If you are receiving attached reports from our Learning Resource Team, paper copies will be sent home with your child on Wednesday.  We encourage parents to take time to sit with each child and share in their successes, as well as discuss the ‘stretches’ at this time in their learning.  With a growth mindset, the practice and learning continue leading to further success!

In reflection, we feel pride as we celebrate another school year together!  We acknowledge our PAC Executive and all the parents who regularly made time to serve our students and our Currie Learning Community.  We are grateful for your CARE and Commitment to all of us.  This was more recently demonstrated in the delicious lunch that was provided for our hard-working and dedicated Staff.  Our genuine thanks for taking such good care and feeding us so well!

We also want to acknowledge our Graduation parent volunteers who worked hard to help make Graduation for our Grade 7 students the great success that it was.  Thank you for the beautiful decorations and delicious food for our graduates.  It was truly enjoyed by all!

Graduation is always a special time when we celebrate the end of an era for some of our students and send them off to new adventures in High School.  We share a message of CARE for each of our Grade 7 students.  We Believe in you and know that you will SHINE as you make choices in education for yourselves that will further serve to shape your future.

So now, as we head into summer break, we wish our General Currie families and each of our Staff members and their families a very wonderful, relaxing, happy and SAFE Summer.  Students: wherever you may start school in September, remember that Currie CARES about you and always will!  To our departing and retiring Staff members: the same message applies to each of you.  We will miss you and wish you the very best always.

To our returning families and staff: we look forward to continuing as a learning community and will see you in September!

Mr. Sala   Ms. Pikkarainen    General Currie Staff
