General Currie Grade 6/7 Competency Sharig Night

May 23, 2019

This is the second year in a row where our grade 6/7 teachers have reached out to families and invited them into our school for our Grade 6/7 Competency Sharing Night. The intention of this night is to celebrate the students refelction in their learning in the Communication, Thinking and Personal and Social core competencies and bring families, students, and staff members together in our gymnasium to celebrate their learning journey. We were even fortunate enough to have a few Richmond School Trustees join us for this event.

Our Currie students were able to articulate a great deal about their learning and the progress they have made throughout the year and where they feel they have particularly shown growth. Their posterboards reflected tremendous effort and wonderfully presented their individual stories. As our Currie Cares model is reflected strongly in the Core Competencies, and vice versa, it was clear to those who were fortunate to hear and see the stories of our students that each of them were presenting strong ideas of how they were caring for themself, others and this place.
