Our Self – Regulation committee developed a school wide activity to gather student voice, language and perceptions of the meanings of  Safety, Teamwork, Acceptance, and Responsibility.  Using a “Chalktalk”  thinking routine, every student had the opportunity to write, draw, read and comment on what these words and values meant to them in our school setting and beyond. 

When completed by every class, staff participated in a gallery walk where they could note themes and common language among our students. The Self Regulation and School Wide Language Committee transferred students’ ideas and language to our school wide language matrix.
