Teachers collaborating to explore teaching strategies in literacy:

Nine teachers collaborated in small groups during two days in January and April.

We zoomed in on the vocabulary and comprehension pillars and picked out two strategies  to implement during the first and second term: exploding the image and word walls. 

During the third term we concentrated on using loose parts to create stories in our Kindergarten classes and literature circles in an intermediate class. In addition, we met with District Literacy Specialists to create a plan for a school wide reading assessment to begin in September 2025.
