Making it Visual
Students in Ms. Shakur's class (Division 15) have spent some time thinking about what it looks like when we Care for Self, Care for Others, and Care for Place here in our community. They first brainstormed the many different ways that we show that we care in each of the three areas and have drawn images of some of their ideas. Their drawings were placed in three concentric circles with the inside circle representing self, the middle circle representing others, and the outermost circle representing place / community. The final product, which can be found in the photo below, is an amazing representation of what our students have come to know and understand about our common language and how they are able to demonstrate it in our community. If you have an opportunity, please stop by the hallway outside of Ms. Shakur classroom (room 131) and see the variety of responses and ideas the students provided.
