Our students have just completed their first full week of school and first five days in their new classroom settings! New relationships are already forming (new friends, with classroom teachers, etc.). It is an exciting time of every school year! Parents, thank you for your support as partners in your child(ren)’s education. We are looking forward to meeting with you, inside our classroom spaces this coming Thursday, September 21st (the first ‘Meet the Teacher’ inside in four years!).
Families can start to gather outside at 3:30 pm. At 4 pm, parents and students will be invited to come in to the classrooms for an opportunity to meet their teacher. At 4:45, we will call all staff and parents to the basketball court at our ‘assembly’ area for a general welcome and introductions to our whole staff and PAC Executive members. We look forward to spending this time together. Our PAC Family Picnic will commence following introductions. Just like last year, we invite families to bring a blanket and/or chairs. Please also bring plates and cutlery for your family members. We also encourage you to bring your own drinks and any picnic food items you may wish to enjoy along with free pizza that will be offered. Thanks so much to our PAC Executive and any of our parent PAC members who will volunteer to support this special event on Thursday!
We also would like to share that we will be having our annual whole school Terry Fox Run this coming Wednesday at 9:10 am. We will be collecting ‘toonies for Terry’ throughout next school week. We thank you in advance if you can contribute to help us meet our school goal of raising $1000!
Parents, we are grateful for you and for all you and your family members do to help support your child(ren) and all of us at General Currie. We look forward to spending time together this coming week! Please always feel welcome to contact the school should you have any questions or concerns at any time.
Very Sincerely,
Mr. Sala Ms. Pikkarainen General Currie Staff
