Our 2024 intake is now open for IPALS (Parents as Literacy Supporters in Immigrant Communities).  For families new to Canada with a preschooler, please consider participating. This program provides new strategies for families to support preschool-aged children’s learning. Sessions will include adult alone time for caregivers to talk with a facilitator (SWIS, teacher consultant and ECEs) and responds to the cultural and linguistic needs of families. It also aims to provide a positive transition from home and other early care settings to school.

• Session 4: Linking Literacy and Play Tuesday, February 6 OR, Thursday February 8
• Session 5: Early Writing Tuesday, February 13 OR, Thursday February 15
• Session 6: Early Math Tuesday, February 20 OR, Thursday February 22
• Session 7: Riddles, Raps and Rhymes Tuesday, February 27 OR, Thursday February 29
• Session 8: Tiny Techies/ Physical Literacy/ Celebration Tuesday, March 5 OR, Thursday March 7

Registration is limited to 12 caregivers and their children. Dates reflect holidays and pro-d days. 

Families who register for Tuesday sessions attend only on Tuesday 9-11:30.
