December 18 - 22 Week at a Glance and Winter Break Family message
Dear General Currie Families,
We have come to our final family email of the year ahead of Winter Break!
We look forward to events happening this week and hope you can join us for:
- Junior Youth Marketplace following dismissal on Wednesday (2:50 - 3:30 pm, see attached)
- Winter Family PAC Breakfast on Thursday! (Please join us in the gym starting at 8 am)
- General Currie Winter Concert on Thursday (following the breakfast, from 9 am - we will start as soon as the gym is rearranged and all students have joined us)
Please also see attached:
- WAAG
- Art class flyer (opportunity for a second class on Tuesdays during Winter term!)
Regarding Wednesday’s after school Marketplace, our Junior Youth have organized a school fair as their service project to show their appreciation and gratitude to teachers and parents. There will be baked goods & drinks, arts & crafts, and games! We're encouraging everyone to bring $5 or $10 bills to be able to purchase tokens in exchange for their purchases at the various stalls. Tables will be set up outside at the front of the school at dismissal. *Parent supervision is required following dismissal for those students wishing to explore the market. Thank you!
Our first written learning updates of the school year will be published on Thursday, December 21st on MyEd. Information and instructions for access to MyEd will be sent to parents in a separate email early this week. As partners in learning, we encourage parents to arrange time to sit with your child(ren) to share and discuss their learning update, as well as their Core Competencies reflection.
If you are looking for ideas and activities this month and during the winter break, the City of Richmond’s Winter Wonderland Skating schedule for December 15 – January 7 is available here.
We look back on many wonderful moments in learning since our school year began and thank each of you for your partnership with us. Looking forward, we hope to see many of you at our school in the coming days and share wishes for a restful, happy and adventurous Winter Break. We look forward to reconnecting with students and families in the New Year when we return to school on Monday, January 8, 2024.
Very sincerely,
General Currie Staff
