What is....?
To begin our scanning process, we invited students to share their thoughts about what our school story might be and what they notice about the spiral.
What is a school story?
It's about helping each other. - A (Gr. 1)
Our school story is for all of the General Currie students, and also adults in the school too. - R (Gr. 2)
After you tell a story, you have to think about it to think if you want to change or add anything. L (Gr. 1)
It's a story about us. - C (Gr. 6)
What do you notice about the Spiral of Inquiry?
It's like a circle - P (Gr. 1)
I see dots. - A (Kindergarten)
The spiral never ends, just like Currie Cares. - J (Gr. 2)
There's no start or end. - A (Gr. 7)
As part of our goal of creating common language around growth mindset, it was important to have a shared understanding of the purpose of our school story as well as the framework in which our story is grounded. By inviting conversations about our school story's purpose, we gain clarity in our collective next steps. We can also create shared understanding of what learning means in our community - that we are constantly evolving. It was such a gift to listen and learn from all of our students!
