An important component of building a school-wide focus is developing common language that is used by staff, students of all ages, and the greater school community.

For our focus on growth mindset, students and staff reading morning announcements have introduced a daily “growth mindset letter” that begins a word suitable for common language (e.g., J for Journey, P for Progress).

These words will then be used as part of school-wide activities in the coming fall to further promote the application of this common language during our ongoing growth mindset learning journey. As we further explore opportunities to teach and learn about growth mindset, we will be able to assess more precisely what terms and language will best support us in making growth mindset a living, thriving practice of our school community.
