June 19 - 23 Week at a Glance
Dear General Currie Families,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Year End Concert in the Park and Picnic event on Thursday! We give thanks to Ms. Kihara, our Band Teacher, for leading our students so successfully in a celebration of song and learning. We are very proud of the progress we have seen in our young musicians!
Thank you to our current and future PAC Executive members, as well as our parent and student leader volunteers for organizing and running such a fun and successful Picnic event. Your commitment to our Currie Community has served to make our school year very special. One parent commented on Thursday how we were able to bring back everything that we had missed in previous years during this past school year. It was a moment to reflect and feel deep gratitude that we have moved on from difficulties and limitations in our school life in recent years.
On Thursday, we also spent time acknowledging and thanking all of our General Currie parents, and mentioned in particular appreciation for mothers, as we had missed that in our email ahead of Mother’s Day last month! With Father’s Day tomorrow, we wish all fathers, in particular, a very happy day!
Lost and Found: as Spring has brought many warm days, we have experienced a growing collection of jackets and other items left outside after playtime. These items have been organized by our Noon Hour Supervisors and are displayed in the front hallway under our PAC information board. Parents/Family members, please come into the school in the coming days to have a look at these items. Any unclaimed items will be packed and donated to a local family support/charity organization on Thursday, June 29th.
Please see our attached Week at a Glance for a celebration in images with information for the coming school week. Please also see the attached flyer for information for the Summer Active Pass in Richmond throughout summer break!
Sending wishes for a pleasant weekend to all!
